Hain House Pastel painting by Shannon Webster
Shannon’s art studio/gallery has been in downtown Columbia’s Arts District for over four years and features his large-scale paintings, plein air paintings, and framed prints. Along with being a place to create art, the studio is home to his design business, where he creates designs for several national brands and builds and maintains their websites. Shannon is also highly involved in the North Village Arts District organization.
One of Shannon’s most recent projects is a 70 ft. x 30 ft. painted mural in the Wabash Courtyard just off the Wabash Alley near Fretboard Coffee and Wishflour Bakery. In addition to the giant painted tree supporting hangtags with people’s submitted wishes and colorful warehouse windows, a closer look reveals some of our city landmarks, such as the Tiger Hotel, Ernie’s Diner, Jesse Hall and the Mizzou columns, and Columbia’s City Hall. [More info about the mural]
Shannon’s studio entrance is located in Wabash Alley just north of Walnut St. between Orr St. and 10th St. near Fretboard Coffee — 1023 E Walnut St, Columbia, MO 65201 [Link to map]
